Justin Golden is an audio engineer, mixer, and producer
I’m involved with music and sound in a few ways:
I mix, edit, and design sound for post-production projects.
I produce, engineer, and mix recording projects for artists and bands.
All of my work is about bringing to life the art and vision of those I’m working with - I’m interested in the story you want to tell. I’m an advocate and empathetic collaborator, drawing on nearly 20 years of music and mixing work: touring the country and making records, agency work with some of music’s biggest clients, mixing and post production for clients around the country. I bring an artistic ear and a craftsman’s toolset, a warmth and reliability, and deliver on time.
In the studio and stage I’ve worked with: Kim Taylor, Ben Sollee, The Wailin’ Jennys, Over the Rhine, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Heather Maloney, Birds of Chicago, Phil Madeira, Carrie Rodriguez, The Midwestern Swing, Dream Tiger, Young Heirlooms, and many others. I’ve mixed for broadcast and digital working with Adult Swim, Funny or Die, Scotch & Soda, the Museum of Pop Culture, and for clients such as ABC, Amazon, YouTube, Procter & Gamble, Subaru, Dos Equis, and others. As part of the band Ellery I’ve performed around the United States and overseas, and made records with great producers and engineers.
I'm based in the Midwest but travel regularly to the coasts (and wherever else!), and work well remotely. I mix in my own studio space, and do tracking at several great studios in the region.
